On 11th of february 1990 he was released from the Victor Verster Prison in Paarl (South-Africa) after 27 years of imprisonment. 18 years of them he lived on the famous Robben Island in Cape Town.
11th of february 1990, a day to remember.
Nelson Mandela fought for freedom, justice and humanity. He brought an end to the apartheid, without a civil war and a message a peace. Peace and freedom for everybody: black and white, all people of South-Africa and the rest of the world. He was an example. He is a great man.
Today, Nelson Mandela is 91 years old. But still, he is a great man. He'll always be.
